Wyoming’s creative communities are reviewing a new report from the National Endowment for the Arts that updates national and state-level estimates of artists in the workforce with figures derived from American Community Survey (ACS) data covering 2015-2019. The ACS is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Wyoming’s state-level ACS estimates includes a total number of artists based on numbers for individual types of artists in the following selected artist occupations: architects; arts directors, fine artists, and animators; designers; dancers and choreographers; musicians; actors; entertainers; writers and authors; and photographers.

Note: You can find more information about the economic and other benefits of the arts (including an estimated 11,451 creative sector jobs and between $17-23 million in local and state tax revenues) from our partners at the Wyoming Arts Council: https://wyoarts.state.wy.us/about/why-the-arts-matter/.
